Valor Mortis Unofficial fan site

Valor Mortis privacy policy

This page lists every third party this site actually loads, tag by tag. Exactly one advertising network is in use — Adsterra — and both of its units, together with the Microsoft Clarity recording tag, are requested only after you allow that option in Cookie settings.

Preferences and cookies

The Cookie settings button in every footer opens your three optional choices: YouTube videos, Adsterra advertising and Microsoft Clarity session recording. The choice is stored on this site in localStorage under vm_consent for 180 days. The footer also carries a Hide ad bar switch, stored as vm-adbar-hidden until you clear site data, which stops the floating Social Bar being requested again on later visits. Reject optional removes any player, ad unit or recording tag already loaded in the current page. Closing an already permitted YouTube player may send final playback-status requests; withdrawal cannot undo information already sent.

Nothing optional is requested before you allow it: the HTML you first receive contains the Adsterra and Clarity addresses only as text inside this site’s own script, never as a <script src>. Google Analytics 4 (Google) is the one measurement tag that loads on every page, before or after a choice. Consent Mode v2 starts it with ad_storage, ad_user_data, ad_personalization and analytics_storage denied and ads_data_redaction enabled; analytics_storage stays denied even after you accept advertising, so GA4 writes no analytics cookie either way and Google receives cookieless aggregate measurement only.

A Global Privacy Control signal disables all three optional permissions. If local storage is unavailable, a permission lasts only for the current interaction.

Advertising (Adsterra)

Adsterra is the only advertising network on this domain: no AdSense tag, no AdSense unit and no second ad network or banner SDK. Two units were created by us in the Adsterra publisher dashboard for website id 6123067 (category Social; the Show adult ads switch is OFF, so adult creatives are excluded for this website) and no other format exists on it: a Native Banner (dashboard unit 31730208) drawn inside the page below the article, and a Social Bar (dashboard unit 31730209), a floating bar anchored to the bottom of the viewport. Both loaders are fetched from bicea.org only after you tick advertising in Cookie settings, so a page you have not opted in on makes no request to Adsterra. This site declares the matching seller line in ads.txt.

Once the units load, Adsterra and the advertisers it serves may set their own cookies and read device or browser identifiers, and may use your IP address, user agent and the page URL to serve, cap and measure ads. This site does not control those cookie names or lifetimes and cannot enumerate them; Adsterra’s own privacy policy governs them. Legal basis: your consent, withdrawable at any time through Cookie settings. To opt out of advertising personalised from your activity across sites, use your regional industry tool — Your Online Choices (EU/UK), the Digital Advertising Alliance opt-out (US) or the Network Advertising Initiative opt-out — and Adsterra’s privacy policy for its own choices.

Session recording (Microsoft Clarity)

Microsoft Clarity (project id yxnf6bc0rm) records heatmaps and session replays, so this site can see which pages are read and where visitors get stuck. The tag is not in the HTML you receive: it is injected by this site’s own script only after you tick session recording, so a visitor who rejects never contacts clarity.ms. Clarity may write its own _clck and _clsk cookies and may receive your IP address, user agent and interaction data; Microsoft states that it retains recordings for up to 30 days and heatmap data for up to 9 months. Withdrawing the permission through Cookie settings sends Clarity a denied consent signal and clears the two Clarity cookies this site can reach. See Microsoft’s Clarity FAQ and the Microsoft privacy statement.

Hosting and contact email

Cloudflare provides the planned production hosting, DNS and Email Routing for contact@valormortis.xyz. Hosting may process IP address, user agent and requested URL for delivery and security. Email Routing forwards messages to the operator’s Gmail mailbox (Google); a contact message includes whatever personal data you choose to send. Messages are kept while addressing your request and deleted when no longer needed, subject to necessary legal records. The site does not keep a separate visitor database. Infrastructure retention depends on the provider and plan. Legal basis: legitimate interest in delivering the site and responding to requests.

Embedded video

YouTube (Google) is the only optional embedded provider. Players connect through www.youtube-nocookie.com only after your video permission and a video click. Playback may request assets from Google/YouTube domains, including googlevideo.com, ytimg.com, youtube.com, gstatic.com, google.com and ggpht.com. Google receives your IP address and browser information and may use player storage or cookies during playback. This site does not enumerate or control Google’s changing player cookie names. See Google’s privacy policy. All first-screen images and fonts are hosted on this site.

Steam, PlayStation, Xbox and source links are ordinary outgoing links. They receive a request when you follow them; they are not loaded by this site in the background.

Your rights

You can ask for access, correction or deletion of messages you sent to the contact address and object to processing where applicable. There is no account system and no sale of personal data. Withdraw video, advertising or session-recording permission through Cookie settings at any time, and use the footer’s Hide ad bar control to stop the floating Social Bar being requested on later visits. Providers may process data internationally under their own privacy terms; you may also complain to your local data-protection authority.

DNT, GPC, and changes

Global Privacy Control is honored as a refusal of all three optional permissions: video, advertising and session recording. Do Not Track is not treated as consent. Changes to providers, optional scripts or this notice will be published here with a new date and appropriate permission controls before loading those scripts.
